Brupaks Birkby Bitter

Starting Gravity 1044 - only used 4.5 Gallons of water to aim for a slightly stronger beer.

Premium beer kit - 3Kg of pre hopped malt included so no sugar needed. Mostly standard BeerInACanMethod for brewing - however the kit also included what was effectively a large tea bag filled with hops. This was soaked in 2 pints of boiling water for about 15 minutes, this water then added to the wort to increase aroma.

The pack also comes with several suggstions for alternative tastes which I may try on future attempts, including boiling the wort, boiling with the hop bag for various periods, using less water for a strong beer, or added more hopped spray malt (it discouraged adding un hopped malt extract or especially glucose as it would unbalance the beer)

Absolutely stunning brew!! A nice bitter hoppy taste, excellent head formation and retention. Makes me need to adjust what I consider a 10/10 for home brew otherwise this would deserve an 11!!
