Sheratons Best Bitter

-- SimonDay - 23 Jun 2006

I can't seem to find a pic of this one... will take my camera to the shop I think wink

Standard BeerInACanMethod - the kit recommends using light malt extract (eg MuntonsLightMaltExtract) however I used 600g MuntonsDarkMaltExtract (simply because I had an open can of it in the fridge) and 400g GlucoseBrewingSugar

Absolutly gorgeous!!! Nice amber/red colour, good head formation, average head retention but a wonderful flavour. Nice and mellow with a touch of caramel - the latter I suspect is from the malt extract, I know some don't like this taste in a beer but I find it does suit some beers very well. (after a later batch of a different beer I have found that the caramel taste is not mainly from the malt extract but is a charactoristic of this beer so if you like that in a beer go for this one)

9/10
